Pretty mouth and green my eyes

The story was about two guys that are on th phone. the two guys are Arthur and The grayhaired man. Arthur tells the grayhaired man all his problems with the "love if his life". That he had brief flashbacks about what was going to happen in his future but he never paid attention to them and now he regrets that b/c he's married and doesn't feel love for Joanie. Arthur tells the gray haired man that he wants him to hang up on him and let him die of sadness and regrets but the grayhaired man doesn't wants to hang up on him b/c he wants him to be brave and not commit any stupid things. While on the phone he tells every moment of happiness that he and his wife use to have and that he dedicated a poem called "Pretty mouth and green my eyes" but she doesn't even has green eyes thats what Arthur said. The gray haired man understood what he was feeling and just gave looks at the girl.

In the story there is a conversation that is going on with the gray haired man and Arthur. They are talking about the Arhturs girlfriend who is not in his house so Arthur is worrying about her and talking to the gray haired man the whole time over the phone about how he is living with her. Arthur is not sleeping or letting the man sleep so he wants to go over to his house to have a drink.The gray man did not respond to him and as he did he was lighting a cigarette and had fallen on the couch he was in and lit him on fire. The gray haired man just sat there not caring anymore about anything. The characters in the story are Joanie, Arthur, the gray haired man. I think that the story was confusing but good because of the dialog that was going on back and forth. It was interesting because you had to find out what they were talking about over the phone.

The book was very interesting. I actually understood the whole story not like others. This book shows friendship and that friends are there for any problem they have. The gray haired man is very patience with Author. The gray haired man tries to make Author feel better by telling him that everything is going to go well and that Joanie is going to come back. The only thing that got me confused and really thinking is the last part that when the girl with the gray haired man was with, that she was trying to turn of the flame that fell and he told her to leave it. i don't get do they get burned or just Lee the gray haired man. At the same time it made me think that the girl that was with the gray haired man was the one that they were talking about, thats why she was quiet but then it didn't say that she had left the gray haired man. But over all the story was good, I enjoyed reading ti.
